The Find My Device app is getting new icon

“Shoot, where did I leave my phone?” We’ve all asked this question plenty of times before. Well, when you can’t find your device, Google has a robust tool to help you locate it called the Find My Device app. According to 9To5Google, the Find My Device app is getting an update that brings a new logo.

The Find My Device app is a great tool to use if you find yourself searching for your phone. The app identifies devices that are signed in with your Google account. When you open the app, you’ll see your list of devices that you can track down. Once you tap on the device, you’ll see a map pop up showing the device’s location on a map.

If the device isn’t currently connected to the internet, it will show its last recorded location. Under the map, you’ll see additional options. One will play a sound on that device to help you locate it. Another device will secure your device. This will lock the device with its password or PIN. Also, you’ll be logged out of your account on the device.

The Find Me Device app is getting a new logo

Those of us who use this app are used to the green pin icon for the app. It’s a fitting logo, but Google has been planning on changing it for a bit. Back in June, the company showed off the new logo that it wanted for the app.

Instead of being a pin logo, the new logo will show the classic Google colors. This will give it the aesthetic of most Google apps nowadays. Instead of the pin, the icon will be more circular. we see a blue and green ring with red and yellow extensions radiating outward. This makes the logo look more like a radar. That makes sense, as you’re locating your devices.
