The HONOR Magic V2 launched in China back in July. That phone managed to shock people due to its extremely thin profile when folded, and its overall weight. It made a global appearance at IFA 2023 a couple of days ago, and that was kind of seen as its global launch. Well, the global HONOR Magic V2 variant could arrive later than expected, unfortunately.

HONOR may have presented the phone to the public outside of China, but we may have to wait a bit until we’re able to buy it. The company has confirmed, to Android Authority, that the global launch will take place in Q1 2024.

So, we’re at least four months away from that point, possibly more. That may disappoint some of you, if you expected it to become available in a month or two. This is understandable, as the phone was presented at IFA.

It was a bit strange that HONOR didn’t officially announce that the device would become available globally during IFA, nor did it share a timeframe for anything like that. Now we know why that is.

The HONOR Magic Vs, the Magic V2’s predecessor, did launch to various markets outside of China, so it was safe to expect the same will happen with the Magic V2. The phone was spotted on HONOR’s websites in Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and the UK already. It’s also expected to arrive in various Latin American markets, and in other European countries.

It will have a similar price tag to its predecessor

The company’s CEO recently hinted that the price tag will be similar to the one Magic Vs had. In other words, the HONOR Magic V2 could cost around €1,599, or exactly that much.

We had the chance to use the phone in Berlin a couple of days ago, and it managed to shock us. It’s as thin as a regular slab phone, basically, while it’s also not heavy at all at 231 grams. It’s unbelievable this phone hides a large display on the inside.

It is a shame we’ll have to wait as long for the phone to arrive to global markets, though. Who knows, perhaps HONOR will surprise us by moving up the release date.
