The OnePlus Open (also known as OnePlus Fold) is coming in the near future. OnePlus promised that its first foldable smartphone will launch in Q3 this year, and the phone’s CAD-based renders already surfaced. Now, a well-known tipster shared some info regarding the OnePlus Open form factor, colors, and cameras.

The OnePlus Open form factor, colors, launch date, and camera info get revealed

This information comes from Max Jambor, in case you were wondering. He claims that the OnePlus Open will feature a form factor like the OPPO Find N2. It certainly did not seem that way in CAD-based renders we’ve seen.

Those renders suggested a taller phone, closer to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Huawei Mate X3, and so on. The OPPO Find N2 is short, and wide, somewhat similar to the Google Pixel Fold in that regard, even though there are notable differences between them. It remains to be seen which route will OnePlus take.

The tipster also says that the OnePlus Open will be very competitive, and that it will deliver a 3x telephoto camera. He also claims that the launch date is set for August 29, but OnePlus still didn’t share that info with the public.

The phone will arrive in two color options

On top of everything, he also revealed the colors we’re getting. The OnePlus Open will arrive in Black and Green color options, it seems. OnePlus is kind of playing it safe, as we did expect only two colors.

The tipster still doesn’t know the phone’s price tag. This phone won’t be cheap, that’s for sure. Still, OnePlus is expected to offer a competitive price tag, as it did with the OnePlus 11 earlier this year.

The OnePlus Open will bring more competition to the foldable smartphone market on a global scale. That is, of course, a good thing, for both the consumers and the technology in general. It will push other OEMs to do an even better job, and hopefully also help push down the prices in the long run.
