The OnePlus Open is the company’s upcoming foldable smartphone, OnePlus’ first foldable smartphone, actually. It’s expected to arrive in Q3 this year, in other words, soon. We assumed that the OnePlus Open will look at least similar to the OPPO Find N3, and a well-known tipster just confirmed that it will look exactly like OPPO’s offering.

This info comes from Ice Universe, one of the best-known tipsters around. In a tweet, he said that “OnePlus Open = OPPO Find N3”, while he also added that “they are the same”.

The OPPO Find N3 did not launch just yet. We’re not entirely sure when will it arrive, but the OPPO Find N2 arrived at the end of December last year. OPPO may opt to launch its successor sooner this year, though.

So, the OnePlus Open will, for all intents and purposes, be a global variant of the OPPO Find N3. That probably means that the Find N3 itself won’t launch outside of China, the same as its predecessors.

Do note that Max Jambor, another tipster, recently said that the OnePlus Open has the same form factor as the OPPO Find N2. That means that it will lean more towards the horizontal layout when unfolded, and be shorter and wider than the Galaxy Z Fold series handsets.

Leaked OnePlus Open CAD-based renders painted a different picture

The OnePlus Open CAD-based renders that surfaced did not really give off that feeling, though. That is kind of interesting, as @OnLeaks is almost never wrong when it comes to CAD-based info.

The phone shown in those renders actually has a more common form factor. It’s quite tall, like a regular smartphone, and when unfolded, it seems to be closer to a square form factor. We’ll see which source is accurate once the phone lands. Having said that, August 29 is tipped as the launch date for the OnePlus Open.
