Nowadays, companies aren’t out to sell you devices; they’re out to sell you ecosystems. They’re pushing devices that play nicely together, and this update goes along with this mentality. This update augments how you can use your tablet with other OnePlus devices.

Bluetooth tethering

First off, the update brings cellular tethering to the OnePlus Pad. If you’re not around Wi-Fi, you can use your OnePlus phone to deliver internet to your tablet. It will transmit the signal via Bluetooth connectivity. You’ll need to make sure that your phone has the setting enabled and that it’s within 10m (33ft) from your tablet.

Auto Connect

The Auto Connect feature closely integrates your tablet and phone to make a more seamless experience. With Auto-Connect, your Oneplus phone and OnePlus Pad will share notifications. So, if you’re working on your OnePlus Pad, you won’t have to stop to check your phone.

The same thing goes for copying and pasting. You’re able to seamlessly copy and paste content between both devices.

App Relay Playing

Last, but not least, we have a feature that will let you use one device and pick up where you left off on another. Say, you’re working on a document on your phone, and you want to finish it on your tablet. Well, you’ll be able to do so.

If you’re using an app that supports App Relay, then you’ll see an icon pop up on the bottom of the tablet’s display. Tapping on it will let you continue using that right where you left off.

These are some great features coming to the tablet. If you want to try out these Multiscreen Connection features, pick up a OnePlus Pad at the OnePlus site.
