Samsung‘s upcoming TWS earbuds will be called the Galaxy Buds FE. The confirmation comes from the company itself. The Korean firm hasn’t officially announced the product, but it has uploaded the user manual for the earbuds on its website for Germany. First spotted by GalaxyClub, the user manual refers to the new wireless earphones as the Galaxy Buds FE. It also contains photos of the buds.
It has been just about three weeks since we have known about Samsung readying a new pair of TWS earbuds. We originally only had its model number (SM-R400N), which suggested that the upcoming pair would be an affordable offering rather than a flagship one under the Pro series. Since Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in August 2022 and Galaxy Buds 2 in August 2021, the new pair was expected to be called the Galaxy Buds 3.
However, there were rumors that Samsung might call it Galaxy Buds FE, hinting at an entry-level offering. The FCC certified the pair in late August but details were still missing. The bud then showed up in a live photo on a Korean certification listing. Its design hinted at an affordable pair of TWS earbuds fitting Samsung’s FE lineup. We now have official confirmation that the pair will arrive as the Galaxy Buds FE.
The Galaxy Buds FE will lack wireless charging but offers ANC
The official Galaxy Buds FE user manual reveals all the functions supported by the Buds. There’s no mention of wireless charging support (for the case) anywhere. It features a USB Type-C port and that’s seemingly the only way to charge the case. Samsung has shown the case in a glossy white color and the buds in black with a matte finish. The case has charging indicators on the inside and outside.
Each bud features two microphones and supports active noise cancelation (ANC) for an immersive listening experience. The buds also offer ambient sound mode to allow external noise whenever you need to interact with your surroundings. The Galaxy Buds FE boasts wear detection and has a wing tip for better fit. Samsung has added a touch panel for controls.
This user manual doesn’t go into detail about the battery capacity and other specs of the Galaxy Buds FE. But with Samsung already preparing for its arrival, it may not be long before we have those details as well. The new TWS pair will probably launch alongside the Galaxy S23 FE and Galaxy Tab S9 FE series later this year. Samsung also has a couple of Galaxy Tab S9 models and the Galaxy SmartTag 2 in the works.
