Tecno has just announced when will it announce its first-ever flip phone. Tecno will launch the Phantom V Flip in late September. The launch event will take place on September 22 in Singapore.
The Tecno Phantom V Flip will launch in late September
This smartphone has been rumored for a while now, and its design did surface not long ago. This phone will follow the Phantom V Fold, which arrived back in February. That was the company’s first foldable, and a book-style smartphone.
Now, in addition to the Phantom V Flip, Tecno confirmed that the MegaBook T1 2023 laptop is coming too. That will be the company’s 14-inch laptop, and it will come with Windows out of the box, almost certainly.
Tecno says that the Phantom V Flip will be its “premium offering with imaginative, cutting-edge technological and aesthetic design”. The company did not share any specifics about the device, though.
The phone is expected to include a circular cover display
Based on a recent leak, however, we do expect it to feature a circular cover display. That design does look very interesting, to be quite honest. We’re also expecting a display camera hole on the main display.
Tecno is expected to utilize one of MediaTek’s processors inside of this device. The Tecno Phantom V Fold came with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000+ SoC. Tecno could stick with the same SoC, or make a jump to the Dimensity 9200, we’ll see.
All in all, we’re expecting it to offer quite compelling specs, and a more affordable price tag than its competitors. We do expect it to cost less than the Galaxy Z Flip 5, OPPO Find N2 Flip, and Motorola Razr+.
Its main display will offer a 120Hz refresh rate
You can expect its main display to offer a 120Hz refresh rate, while we’ll also get some form of fast charging. Wireless charging likely won’t be included in the package, though.
