After quite a bit of teasing on social media, and the plans themselves leaking over the weekend, Verizon has finally announced its new plans. Using the name “myPlan”.
The purpose of these new plans is to streamline them. So now, there’s two plans, which include zero perks. Instead, the perks can be added on for $10/month. Each perk is worth more than $10/month, so you are saving on each one. And now you can choose the perks you want, instead of getting perks you don’t need. Or save some cash and not get any of the perks.
So how much are the new plans?
So there are now just two plans: Unlimited Welcome and Unlimited Plus. These are $65 and $80 respectively, for a single line.
These plans are comparable to the 5G Start and 5G Get More plans, which are both more expensive at $70 and $90 respectively. But of course, there’s no perks included with any of them.
Basically, your choices are to get unlimited 5G data, which can be slowed at any time when network is congested, for $65/month, or get Unlimited Plus which includes 5G Ultra Wideband, 30GB of premium mobile hotspot data, and unlimited data that will never be slowed for $80/month.

So the plans are cheaper compared to what Verizon currently offers. But as mentioned, perks are not included. You can instead add perks for $10 per month. Allowing you to customize your plan to your needs. So what perks are included?

With the +play credit, you can use it on a number of other streaming services that work with +play. That includes NFL+, Netflix and many others. Perhaps the best deal here is the 100GB of Mobile Hotspot for just $10 per month, this is typically $45/month. And it’s really useful for those that are traveling a lot and needing to use the hotspot.
Verizon says that these new plans will launch on May 18, this coming Thursday. So you have a few days to see if it is worth it to switch to the new plan, or stick with your current one.
