Here's your first real look at the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 has just appeared in a real-life image, giving us a first proper look at the device. Truth be said, we can only see the back of the phone here, but it does show us a different design compared to its predecessor.

The camera island on the back has a different design. The back side is no longer flat with the camera island sticking out. Xiaomi took a page from the Xiaomi 13 Ultra book, as the upper portion of the back of this phone is now raised. It raises gradually to reach the height of the camera island.

Less than one-third of the top of the phone’s back is raised, though, to make that camera island fit more seamlessly with this design. Some will like this change, others, not so much. We wonder how odd will it be to hold this device when unfolded, though. On one side, you’ll have this raised top portion, while on the other, the phone’s cover display, which will be flat.

In any case, you will notice that Xiaomi included four cameras on the back here. You’ll also notice that Leica is a part of the package once again, and that one of the cameras on the back is a periscope telephoto unit.

This phone is expected to offer a great camera setup

Ice Universe, a well-known tipster, also said that the phone will have great cameras, on par with regular flagship smartphones. That did get us rather interested in this phone, as foldables usually take a back seat in terms of camera quality.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will also be very thin, though it remains to be seen if it will be thinner than the HONOR Magic V2. It will have two 120Hz AMOLED displays, and ship with Android 13 out of the box.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 launched in August last year, and the same will happen with the MIX Fold 3, but this year. Xiaomi already confirmed that the device is coming in August. Another thing to note is that the phone’s render also surfaced recently, showing us its cover display.
